JJack, The Bucs wish to thank you for your very kind and true words. Dennis Mattingly has fought this battle with cancer a very long time. He has won in the past. Unfortunately, this time it will be very difficult to put in the Win column. I know the family, friends, Bucs, and the ABL will greatly miss this man.He is an insiration on and off the field. Thank all for your prayers and kind words. The Bucs will continue to post updates on our facebook page.

My father in law was told that his birth father was a minor league player from Nome Alaska. He was playing in North Carolina during the 1950 season. Any idea how I might find this information. I looked at rosters of all North Carolina teams, however, many rosters did not have birthplace. I was hoping you might have better information.

I appreciate any help you may have.

Let me assure you, jjack, that there is a ton of community support for the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks! That's the new name for the former AIA Fire and Loretta French Park will be their home beginning in the 2012 season. We look forward to seeing you at the games! Admission will be free, by the way, but we'll offer season tickets anyway. We have formed a booster club and people are clamoring to volunteer their services. Chugiak-Eagle River has always supported youth sports and is anxious to make this the best of them all! Go,Chinooks!

You are so right Brad. I guess that next time I will have to read a little closer. I was under the impression that MVP meant Most 'Valuable' Player. Next time, jjack will have to title this survey MFP for Most 'Favorite' Player.

As the defintions state:

Favorite - a person or thing regarded with special preference.

Valuable - of considerable importance or quality.

Those of us who were voting for the MVP should know better.
